Weston Imer

One of the most hotly contested states in the 2016 general election will be Colorado. And within Colorado, Jefferson County, which encompasses the western parts of the Denver metropolitan area, is one of the most important counties to win.
Enter Weston Imer, the co-chair of the Jefferson County Trump Campaign. But Weston is not a typical campaign staffer: He is 12 years old.
"Parents have the responsibility to educate their kids," Laurel Imer, Weston’s mother, who is officially listed as the county's co-chair, told KDVR.
According to CNN, Trump is 10-percentage points behind Clinton in the state. Adding insult to injury, the Clinton camp announced on Aug. 22 that it would not be running TV ads in the state come September and October.
"If we do not elect Mr. Trump and Mr. Pence, school shootings could triple [over] the next four to eight years under the poor leadership of Hillary Clinton," Weston said, reports CNN. Weston told KDVR that he is has experienced bullying at school, but that he would be at the field office working every day until school begins.
Weston introduced Mike Pence at an Aug. 3 event in Denver.
According to The Guardian, Weston called anti-Trump delegates and made threats against them if they failed to support Trump.
Cruz ultimately won the state’s Republican convention in April.
Weston has his own plans to run for office, notes KDVR.
"Definitely; 2040 watch for me -- and Barron Trump, if you're watching, I'll take ya as my running mate."
